5 Fall Shoe Trends to Shop Now

Get in losers...we're going shopping! Last spring when I wrote about Fall 2020 trends, I definitely didn’t think that we'd be showcasing those styles from Zoom calls and six feet apart, but what the pandemic hasn't changed is how excited I am for this fall's shoe trends. We've got every type of boot imaginable, edgy detailing and more. Take a look through what was on runways last spring and in stores now, then see what looks your closet needs!

The Trend: Combat Boots

This trend is no surprise yet no fall fashion list would be complete without it. Combat boots are among the most versatile shoe both in fashion and use. Doesn’t matter if you’re in Manhattan and want to look cool or you’re going to go for a hike in the mountains, combat boots are always an excellent choice. This fall’s runways included combat boots of every iteration imaginable, with wild animal prints, lug soles, duck boot accents and more.

The Trend: Chain

From Simone Rocha to Burberry, designers draped chain over every type of footwear from chunky boots to delicate stilettos. Heavy chain links anchored strappy sandals and oversized boots and fine chain added chic detail to more subtle looks. Draped over the toes, cuffing the ankle or creating the body of the shoe itself, designers couldn’t get enough and neither can we!

There’s something effortlessly sleek about a good tall boot so it’s no wonder they’re everywhere this fall! Nearly every designer included tall boots in their collections from Alexander McQueen to Oscar de la Renta. Style your boots with a short dress for a legs for days look or pair them with a knee length coat for a chic street style feel!

The Trend: Platforms

We’ve been wearing platform sandals all summer but don’t put them away quite yet! Chunky soles are sticking around for the fall season, adding height to almost every style of shoe. We're obsessed with platforms on sneakers, heels and boots. Whether it's a lug sole or a proper chunky sole, this fall's shoes are taking style to new heights!

The Trend: All Vegan

Not only are traditional designers beginning to incorporate vegan leathers and suedes into their collections, but new luxury brands are also popping up with the goal of creating high end, entirely-vegan products. One such brand, Mink Shoes, designs handcrafted eye-catching heels. Another all-vegan brand is Nanushka, a label founded in 2005 on the belief that no animals have to be killed for beautiful fashion. Household names like Stella McCartney already use all vegan materials and other designers like Marine Serre incorporate upcycled and vegan materials. There is also an entirely vegan fashion week, aptly named Vegan Fashion Week, in which every single designer uses only man-made materials, from leathers to feathers. In the future, I image more and more top designers will lean towards vegan materials, hopefully leading the rest of the fashion world to follow. All of our shoes are made with man-made and vegan materials, so if you’re looking for a non-leather option you’ve come to the right place!
